2016 Nissan Pathfinder review, release date, interior

The original Nissan Pathfinder was an out and out SUV that was more than a match for any other SUV on the market. However, over time it has been modified to become a midsize family SUV, which is large enough to seat seven adults in comfort. The nice thing about this new and modified 2016 Nissan Pathfinder is that it is also very quiet. The 2016 Nissan Pathfinder has been tamed to become a crossover that has undergone a small makeover to rectify a few issues that troubled the 2012 model.

2016 Nissan Pathfinder: Redesign Exterior and Interior

On the outside, the 2016 Nissan Pathfinder is not going to undergo any major changes. It will still sport an identical front end as the earlier model and the rear has only been changed ever so minutely. However, the taillights are new and they also illuminate differently because of a unique LED system.

On the inside, the Pathfinder undergoes a number of improvements. The dashboard will be made from new materials and the overall layout has been designed to look clear and uncluttered. All this makes it easy for the driver to concentrate on driving. Essential features include a 7-inch display with a rearview camera. There is also a very impressive audio system and the air conditioning is also very satisfactory. Optional features include navigation system as well as leather upholstery.

2016 Nissan Pathfinder: Engine and Fuel Economy

Under the hood, either a 3.5-liter V6 engine that can produce as many as 260 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque will power the new Nissan Pathfinder, or a hybrid engine may be used. The petrol engine may not be the quickest or even the most silent engine, but it does offer certain smoothness and it does not produce any vibrations in the cabin. Front-wheel drive is a standard option while an all-wheel-drive is offered is offered as an option. The engine will be mated with an Xtronic CVT. The Nissan Pathfinder should be able to accelerate from a standstill to sixty miles per hour in approximately 8 seconds.

The other engine option available with the new 2016 Nissan Pathfinder is the 2.5-liter four-cylinder that is mated to an electric motor. This engine is capable of producing 250 horsepower and 242 pound-feet of torque. This engine is pretty similar to the V6 although it does perform at thirty percent better fuel economy and gives an average of 26 miles per gallon fuel economy.
