Mitsubishi is well known in the automotive industry. This company has been around for quite a while and it has proved to be one of the best automobile manufacturing company’s over the years. It will be able to compete with other autos in its segment in terms of engine and performance, exterior design and interior layout, reliability and fuel economy.
2016 MITSUBISHI LANCER: REDESIGN EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR
2016 Mitsubishi Lancer will be offered in the sane trims as before namely ES, SE, GT and Railart. The basic ES trim will be equipped with various features. Outwards, the base ES will get 16 inch steel wheels, HID head lights, colored door handles a chrome grille and a defroster for the rear window. Inside, this EX trim will be equipped with an electric power steering wheel, power mirrors with turn indicators, , keyless ignition, six-way adjustable front seats and four way adjustable rear seats, four speakers, Bluetooth connectivity, 140-watt FM/AM/MP3/CD audio player, Aux input and manual climate control.
2016 Mitsubishi Lancer will also come with plenty of technology features and various multifunctional safety features. As for the richer trim levels, the automaker will offer additional functions and systems especially on their interior. As for the standard safety features, they include electronic brake force distribution, brake assist, anti-lock braking system, active stability control, tire pressure monitoring system, traction control logic, child lock, engine immobilizer and anti-theft alarm system. On the high trims, there will be a long list of optional advanced features which will be offered with a slight price increment.
2016 MITSUBISHI LANCER: ENGINE AND FUEL ECONOMY
2016 Mitsubishi Lancer will run on the same engine line-up as its predecessor. The base trim will run on a 2.0 liter inline-4 MIVEC engine capable of generating about 148 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. The base engine will be combined with the 5 speed manual gearbox which will transfer power to either the front wheel or the all-wheel drive. The Railart trim will also come with the same 2.0 liter engine but its power output will be increased to about 237 horsepower and 253 lb-ft of torque. The other engine option will be used in the other two trims and it will be a 2.4 liter inline-4, characterized by 168 horsepower and 167 pounds-feet of torque. The last trims will use the CVT gearbox whose EPA estimates is at 26/34/29 mpg city/highway/combined driving. The first engine EPA estimates are at 25/34/28 mpg city/highway/combined respectively.
2016 Mitsubishi Lancer: Release Date, Price, Competitors
The new 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer main rivals will include Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra, Kia Forte, Mazda 3 and Ford Focus. Its release is expected to take place in fall of 2016. As for the price, it will be around $ 17 500.
