GMC Terrain is a mid-size crossover which General Motor’s released to replace Pontiac Torrent. Just like Torrent, the current Terrain model is based on Theta Platform. Just like the outgoing model, this new 2016 GMC Terrain will feature two engine options. The first one will be a 2.4 liter 4-cylinder direct injection generating 182 horses and 172 lb-ft of torque. This mill, while combined with the front wheel drive, will deliver 22 mpg city and 32 mpg highway, while with the optional all wheel, it will deliver 20/22 mpg city/highway respectively. The second engine will be a 3.6 liter V6 with an output of 301 horses and 272 pounds-feet of torque. Both powertrains will utilize the six speed transmission.

The 2016 GMC Terrain will have numerous opponents which include Ford Escape, Honda CR-V, Volkswagen Tiguan, Subaru Outback and Toyota RAV4. The release date of this 2016 GMC Terrain is expected to take place in mid 2015. As for the price, it is rumored to remain just as it is in the outgoing model.
