2016 BMW M6 gran coupe, sedan, convertible

The 2016 BMW M6 has been styled to look very sleek and stylish. The M6 was first seen just prior to the start of the North American Auto Show in Detroit. The BMW M6 has a number of new features and it has also undergone some serious restyling. Like other 6 series BMW cars, the BMW M6 will also be available in three different body styles. The first one is the coupe with two doors. The second option is the convertible while there is also a third option in the form of a four-door Gran Coupe. The new BMW M6 will also get a new grille, which will now make use of nine bars instead of the regular ten. This has been done to improve the aerodynamics of the vehicle and that will translate into better fuel economy.

On the outside the new 2016 BMW M6 does not look like other 6 series BMW vehicles. Thanks to the one of a kind front grille and with larger air intakes in front, the M6 looks more attractive. It has also been given aggressively styled side skirts and wheels. All models are also equipped with adaptive LED headlights.

On the coupe as well as the convertible, the M6 gets 19-inch light alloy wheels. The M6 Gran Coupe on the other hand is equipped with 20-inch wheels. At the back, the BMW M6 has a nice bumper that has a nice diffuser as well as four exhaust pipes. On the Coupe as well as the Grand Coupe, BMW has installed carbon fiber roofs to help bring down the weight of the vehicle and to also reduces its center of gravity to give optimum performance.

Inside the cabin of the 2016 BMW M6, there is a nice iDrive display as well as center console – both of which are places in a black panel. Drivers have the option of controlling their GoPRo cameras straight from the display with the help of the GoPRo application, which is part of the BMW Connected Drive Suite of apps. The steering wheel has plenty of leather. BMW also offers a number of color options for both the interiors as well as exteriors. The company also has a nice program called the BMW Individual program that buyers can use to personalize and customize their vehicle even more.


The new 2016 BMW M6 will still be powered by a 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 engine that can produce a staggering 560 horsepower and 500 pound feet of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission or through a 7-speed double clutch transmission. The latter transmission enables the Coupe and Grand Coupe to accelerate from zero to sixty-two miles per hour in a mere 4.2 seconds. The convertible covers the same distance in just 4.3 seconds.

2016 BMW M6: Release Date and Price

The 2016 BMW M6 should be available in the showrooms across the US in the second part of 2015. The company has yet to announce the M6’s price, but there should be a slight increase in price over the earlier model. At the very least, buyers of the 2016 BMW M6 will have to pay at least 118 000 dollars for the M6 Grand Coupe.
