2016 Audi Q3 usa, tdi, review

The 2016 Audi Q3 will undergo a number of changes. In fact, it is undergoing a mid-life refresh. The first thing to strike you about this new offering from Audi is that it sports the same silhouette as the 2015 model. However, the nose has been designed to be very assertive and the grille has been reshaped to fit in well with the standard headlights, which have also undergone mild refreshment. On the side, the new 2016 Audi Q3 does not look too different to the 2015 model, though the wheels have undergone some design changes.Speaking about changes, Audi has also changed the taillights, which now sport LED technology and a new look. The bumper at the back of the car has also got some new lines and the same goes for the bumper at the front.

2016 Audi Q3: Redesign Exterior and Interior

On the inside, Audi has not made too many changes with the same dashboard being used in the Audi Q3 as is available with the 2015 model. A MMI screen is offered that the driver can fold so as to not be distracted by it when driving. The interiors are more or less the same as in the 2015 model. However, even though the 2016 Audi Q3 is available at an affordable price, the company does use some good quality materials and the construction of the vehicle is very strong and solid. Once you get used to using the primary controls, you will find it easy to use them. The driver’s seat is very comfortable though you will be sitting a bit higher than in a regular sedan. The windows are of a generous size and they offer excellent forward as well as sideways visibility. The only trouble with the interiors is the lack of adequate legroom in the rear of the cabin. However, there is no problem with space in the cargo area. The Audi Q3 is also equipped with a power lift gate.

2016 Audi Q3: Engine Specs

Under the hood, there are fewer engine options available to American buyers as compared to European buyers. The 2-liter four-cylinder engine produces a nice 200 horsepower and 207 pound feet of torque. At the moment, the company is also offering a single transmission option in the form of a 6-speed double clutch S tronic transmission. The 2016 Audi Q3 has standard front-wheel drive though it is also possible to opt for an all-wheel drive. Basically, Audi has chosen not to make any changes under the hood.

The nice thing about this new 2016 Audi Q3 is that it boasts of a chassis that is very rigid and a suspension that is very firm. Both these features ensure better handling, even when driving the vehicle at high speeds down the highway. Steering is not perfect or precise but it is adequate. Also, the vehicle accelerates nicely and will offer refined operation when cruising. Overall, the Q3 drives like a good compact vehicle.
