2015 GMC Canyon traces the path of re-entry for GMC into the mid-size pick up truck segment and promises to leave a mark. As far as the expected specs go it seems like a perfect alternative to the high fuel consuming full size heavy duty trucks as it promises to give high performance with better fuel economy, strong build and latest advanced features.
2015 GMC Canyon will have a revamped cabin as the last pick up truck produced by GMC was in 2013 and its interior design would have lost its sheen by now. New interior will give you a rich feel just like any high end car and would be made of high quality durable materials to ensure longevity along with comfort. As far as the internal features are concerned then they will include forward collision warning system, IntelliLink infotainment interface, rearview camera, adaptive cruise control, gadget connectivity and lane departure warning system.
2015 Canyon will be available in three trims, namely, SLE, SLT and the Base trim. With a completely new design it is the right time for GMC to launch Canyon into market which has a dearth of mid-size pick up trucks among the increasing demand. Although the huge front fascia, massive three bars grille design and the LED headlights still remain in line with the traditional Ford look.
2015 GMC Canyon will have two engine options with the base model equipped with a 2.5-liter four cylinder engine displacing 200 BHP at a maximum torque of 191 lb-ft and the high end models being powered by a more powerful 3.6-liter V6 engine displacing 305 horsepower at maximum torque of 269 lb-ft. The 3.6-liter engine would be better able to carry heavy duty loads and a 2.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine is also being planned for the future models.
The six-seat 2015 GMC Canyon still has no official EPA rating and it is expected to be revealed soon after further testing is over.
2015 GMC Canyon is paired with six-speed automatic transmission system and has an option between two wheel drive and four wheel drive mechanisms. A select package for rear wheel drive and six-speed manual gearbox transmission is also available on order.
